Biking at Belvoir castle in Leicestershire
Hello, went biking around Belvoir castle in Leicestershire today. Really suprisingly good route. Got the route from www.mountainbikerides.co.uk. Some good climbs and descents for leicestershire. The ride gets its altitude from ascending tree covered ridge line. It follows a route through a variety of terrains including singletrack, towpath, doubletrack and fireroad. The route is mainly made up of a combination of the jubilee way and viking way. The highlights of the ride were the 'curbstone descent' - a rocky descent through woodland on the viking way and the descent at the end 'toft's hill'. Also the views from Stathern forest and seeing Belvoir castle was cool. Check it out! The peak district trip has been rearranged for a later date. Cheers. Andrew.
